LifeStream Blood Bank does not have enough blood to supply local hospitals right now.
LifeStream Blood Bank needs 2,376 donors through Sunday, Jan. 15, to overcome an alarming blood shortage. The rain storms forecasted to hit Southern California this week threaten blood collection efforts.
The community blood supply is down to half a day of supply. Specifically, Type O donors are desperately needed. Currently, there is an O positive liver transplant patient at an area hospital.
Liver transplants can take up to 100 pints of blood. LifeStream only has 23 pints of O positive supply for our entire service area. All eligible O positive donors who are feeling healthy and well are encouraged to schedule an appointment or walk-in TODAY to help save this local patient.
